That night, when she came home from work she started to cry.
She had a bad day at work so I took it upon myself to take away the pains of the day and to end her day with a smile.
It was a gorgeous summer night, so we went to downtown Chicago and sat at the park by the old water tower.
Our park.
And I let her talk and vent out her frustrations from work. In time I looked over towards the horse carriages and asked her if it would cheer her up to take a ride with a horsey.
She smiled and nodded "yes."
She chose to ride with one of the most beautiful white horses I've ever seen.
At some point along the ride she started to cry.
"Happy tears," she said. Because I went to such lengths to make her feel better after such a bad day.
When our horse carriage reached a crowded intersection I looked at her, smiled, pulled a ring out of my pocket and got down on one knee.
"Will you marry me?"
She cried once more, even happier tears.
"Yes."
And although we were in the middle of the crowded intersection of Chicago & Michigan Avenue, at that moment, she's the only person to exist before my eyes.
As far as I'm concerned, she's the only woman that can ever exist before my eyes.
